Maija Lummepuro

Maija Lummepuro is a Senior Ministerial Adviser, Cultural Affairs, in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Department for Art and Cultural Policy, Finland. She has worked on international cooperation in the Ministry since 2003, enhancing regional collaboration in the framework of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council, Council of the Baltic Sea States and Arctic Arts Summit as well as developing Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture in the field of creative sector. Since 2015, Lummepuro has also worked on furthering issues regarding cultural diversity and social integration through art and culture as part of the Ministry’s development work for cultural policy. Lummepuro was the Specialist Secretary in the working group for Cultural Policy, Immigrants and Promotion of Cultural Diversity in 2020.
